In the past two weeks I had the pleasure of playing two tournaments in America.
The first tournament "Pittsburgh Open 2024" took place in Pittsburgh and was a silver-class tournament. As I got in at short notice, my seeding wasn't very high. In the first round, I played against Lucas Serme from France. I managed to win 3/0 against him. Then I played against the world no. 48 Cesar Salazar. As I had never played against him before, I didn't know exactly how it would end or what the best tactics would be. After trailing 2/0, I still managed to win the match in the end with 13/11 in the fifth set. This victory was huge for me. My opponent the next day was Yousef Soliman. The number 12 in the world. It was much more difficult against him and I had to admit defeat 3/0. Nevertheless, it was a great tournament for me
D.C Squash On Fire 2024 was the second tournament. As my seeding was better, I had an easier draw in the first round. I played against the wildcard Tayyab Aslam from Pakistan. After a difficult first set (15/13), I was able to get into the match better and win the next two sets. The next day I played against the 23rd player in the world Greg Lobban. After narrowly losing the first set, I won the next two and was well on course to win the match. Unfortunately, after a few bad decisions and the onset of fatigue, I couldn't maintain my good form and lost the match in the fifth set 12/10. Despite the defeat, the tournament was successful and the whole trip was good for me. In 10 days I'll be moving on to Calgary, Canada for my next silver tournament
