I was in Calgary last week for the Canadian Open 2024. It was the second silver tournament for me this year after the Pittsburgh Open last month.
I started the tournament as a 9/16 seed. In the first round I was able to win against a tricky Sanjay Jeeva from Malaysia with 3/1. The next day I played the No. 6 of the tournament August Dussourd from France. After a good 2/0 lead, I got a little nervous and lost the third. After regaining my focus and nerves, I was able to win it in four games and was happy to reach the quarterfinals of a silver event again.
In the quarterfinals, I played against No. 7 in the world Mazen Hesham. It was a great opportunity to play against a top player and learn from it. Although I lost, I think I played a good game and was satisfied with the result. I'm looking forward to the next tournaments with new challenges
