Swiss National Championships 2022

This year's SEM took place in Uster from 22.9-25.9.

I started the tournament as number two and managed to advance to the semi-finals with two 3/0 wins against Michael Baumann on Thursday and David Maier on Friday. On Saturday, I had to play once more Robin Gadola, against whom I had lost 3/1 just two weeks before in Australia. So, of course, I wanted to take my revenge on this Saturday. I prepared myself well for the match and tried to play my game right from the start and not to let anything go wrong. I succeeded in following the game plan and could win 3/0 against him and entered for the first time the SEM final against Dimitri Steinmann.

On Sunday, it was clearly more difficult. I knew that it would be a tough match and tried to keep up. However, Dimitri was still too good and won the final with 3/0. Despite the defeat in the final, I come out of the tournament positively and am happy about my first silver medal after I won the bronze medal for the first time last year. Of course also a huge success for our club GCZ Squash which now has the reigning Swiss Champion and Vice Swiss Champion.
